You will find below a short glossary gathering all terms provided with a definition within the articles of this site. This glossary is mainly intended for Internet Explorer users since this browser is unable to highlight those terms in the course of an article (see this chapter for details). I took this opportunity to develop the definitions a bit:

Bastide
Fortified town of South-West France, often built according to a geometrical plan. Bastides were often founded by the King or a lord, and served demographic and defense purposes.
Causse
High and vast limestone plateau in center and South-West France, arid and furrowed by deep valleys, providing sparse pasture to sheep.
