All French articles were authored by Vincent Poinot, as well as photographs. The substance of these articles comes partly from history books I have read, and for the biggest part, from excellent unpaid guides who help tourists discover Périgord: most of them are brilliant and inexhaustible about “their” monument.

Texts

You are not allowed to reproduce these texts without my consent, for the two excellent reasons that follow: first, I cannot see why an article should be duplicated in several places on the web, if you think your visitors could be interested in my pages, just send them to my site via an hyper-text link. Isn't it one of the advantages of the internet over paper support? In that case, please use such a link to refer to the castle of Fénelon, for example:

To know more about the <a href="http://www.relinquiere.com/region/fenelon">castle of Fénelon</a>.

An other more technical reason is that search engines, especially Google, do not like duplicated pages an tend to push them down their results. I'd like to avoid that…

These two arguments only apply to internet publication: if you want to print my texts, feel free to do so as long as you mention your source.

Photographs

As to photographs, if you try to link to one of them from you site, you will probably not see anything (only the value of the HTML alt attribute): I have actually set up a mechanism that prevents such links, not to avoid my pictures being copied, but simply to limit my bandwidth consumption.

On the other hand, you are free to download a picture from the site, and to copy it on your own site. If you do so, you must not modify the picture whatsoever (digital effect, watermarking, etc.). Moreover you must then add on the same page where the picture appears a link to the related article. For instance, if you want to reuse a picture of the castle of Castelnaud, use this link:

Source: The <a href="http://www.relinquiere.com/region/castelnaud">castle of Castelnaud</a>.

If the picture you picked up doesn't relate to any particular article, link to the home page:

<a href="http://www.relinquiere.com/">Bed and breakfast in France: La Relinquière</a>
